DIY Solar Panels
Well I’ve decided the time has come for me to get started on my own DIY Solar Panels project.
As my work as an SEO specialist has recently involved me working on promoting a solar power e-book product, I’ve researched and written so much about it I’ve sold it to myself!
So I decided it would be fun to document the process start to finish and share my own experience of the work involved. I will be using Bill Ford’s guide from Home Made Energy.org, click here to view his site.
Today is Saturday 25th April 2009.
My objective is to have as many solar panels as i can fit on my sun facing roof surfaces by this time next year, producing electricity to run my house full of computers and other electrical applicances and also to store excess electricity in deep cycle batteries and sell-on to the national grid any excess power I produce once the batteries are all fully charged.
Should be fun!
Here is our house in panaramic view (it doesn’t actually have a bend in the middle!) as you can see we’ve got loads of sunny roof space just begging to be covered in solar panels!
The attic has been converted into my office, which with those windows can get very hot in the Summer. The existing solar panels which you can see on the top right of the image are for our hot water solar system which works really well and is integrated into the hot water heating system, which is currently run by an oil fired boiler. It cost about £6,000 to install it about two years ago though.
If you would like to investigate setting up your own diy solar panels system then have a look at the sales page for the e-book which I’ve bought.
